Publication Ethics

International Journal of Language and Cultural Linguistics (IJLCL) committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractice. The journal adheres to the principles outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expects all parties involved in the publication process—authors, reviewers, editors, and publishers—to adhere to the following ethical guidelines:

1. Responsibilities of Authors

  • Authors must ensure their manuscripts are original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
  • All sources must be properly cited. Plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism, is unacceptable and will result in immediate rejection.
  • Authors are responsible for the accuracy of their data and findings. Any fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of research data is considered unethical.
  • Proper acknowledgment of all contributors and funding sources must be included.
  • Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
  • In case of a significant error discovered after publication, authors are obliged to promptly notify the editor and cooperate in issuing a correction or retraction.

2. Responsibilities of Editors

  • Editors are responsible for the final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts based on originality, relevance, quality, and alignment with the journal's scope.
  • Editors must ensure a fair and unbiased peer review process, maintaining confidentiality and avoiding conflicts of interest.
  • Editors will act promptly to investigate any allegations of research or publication misconduct and take necessary action, including correction, retraction, or banning authors from future submissions when warranted.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback based on scholarly merit.
  • Reviewers should avoid personal criticism and respect the confidentiality of the manuscript.
  • Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and decline to review when a potential conflict exists.
  • If a reviewer suspects misconduct, they are encouraged to inform the editor confidentially.

4. Responsibilities of the Publisher

  • The publisher supports the editorial board in ensuring that publication ethics are maintained and that any suspected misconduct is properly addressed.
  • The publisher is committed to the long-term preservation of published content and to the integrity of the academic record.

Ethical Oversight

IJLCL takes ethical oversight seriously. Any breach of the above ethical standards, once proven, may lead to corrective actions such as retractions, corrections, reporting to institutions, or banning authors from future publications in the journal.
